To find a partner, you can use the Providence Tango facebook Page.

Homer + Cristina class descriptions:

1. Friday (Int) - "Something Scary Spins This Way"In this intermediate class we will work on developing a 'single axis turn' or 'colgada spin' of various speeds and durations (from almost 'not there' to 'hurricane force').  These movements are great social techniques to help you navigate, be musical and dynamic in small spaces, or outright 'scare' your partner (i.e the roller coaster ride of tango).  However, we will consider fun & safety first in all our applications.  For folks with any amount of colgada experience.  No partner required.

2. Saturday (Int) - "The Art of Surprise - Part I"This Intermediate class will lay down the ground work for good vs. bad surprises in tango.  We will play a few fun games and get us warmed up for various fundamental surprises.  Be prepared to laugh and have fun...  No partner required.

3. Saturday (Int/Adv) - "The Art of Surprise - Part II"This intermediate/advanced class is a continuation of the concepts presented in the previous class.  We will explore more advanced forms of social dance surprise, some building on the last concept and some new directions as well.  Both the lead and follow technique will be refined.  Please take Part I as a pre-requisite to maximize your class experience in Part II.  No partner required, but one is highly encouraged.

4. Sunday (Advanced) - "Cool Tricks and Traps for the Social Dance Floor - Parts I"As we approach the end of our Halloween weekend we offer this advanced class to both ground you and expand your horizons.  We start off by refining the circular ocho cortado used by most experienced social dancers, including lead/follow variations.  From there, we will introduce a new concept - 'The Felipe Reverse Ocho Cortado' and its variations.  This is a partner only class.  Don't miss this opportunity to learn a new social dance trick that may spread like wild fire...

5. Sunday (Master) - "Cool Tricks and Traps for the Social Dance Floor - Parts II"Not for the inexperienced or the faint of heart.  This master level 'eye candy' class will expand your creative tango boundaries by exploring various combinations that both surprise and intrigue your partner.  For starters we will investigate the Felix back sacada and funky step-over colgada wrap!  From there, Homer & Cristina will pull all the stops and show you just how many tricks and traps they have wrapped up their tango sleeves.  This is a partner only class.  While it is designed for highly experienced dancers we often times find that less experienced tango couples benefit from the visual feast of opportunities and future possibilities that their tango can lend itself to one day.  Enter this class at your own risk!

Homer + Cristina will also teach the regular Tuesday night Continuing Basics class on November 1st at 7:30. Topic is Finding Your Own Tango Style - A Survival Guide by Homer & Cristina - all-levels. Come at 7:15 to warm up followed by a 1/2 hr guided practica.
