Ellen Mayer - Owner, Director, Teacher, Organizer
Ellen founded Providence Tango in the summer of 2000. She has since been making tango fun and accessible to students and enthusiasts in the greater Providence area, and her excitement and love of dance has inspired a growing, creative tango community. Ellen's experience dancing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and traveling to dance around the United States has made her an elegant and imaginative "tanguera." Her teaching emphasizes personal style and inventiveness, while maintaining a strong focus on form and technique. ellen@providencetango.com

Bill Pease - Senior DJ + Educator of new DJs Bill is a classically trained musician who has been able to extrapolate his musical knowledge into the performance of Tango music. As a DJ, Bill's goal is to play the most inspiring music from all musical genres with heavy emphasis on the traditional Tango repertoire. Having a degree in music theory and composition from Boston University has given Bill a unique technical and theoretical insight into the harmonic and rythmic structure of Tango music which, under the tutelage of Ben Bogart, he has applied to creating programs of contagiously danceable music. Bill is committed to the playing of great music in all social Tango events everywhere. Bill and his wife Anne help organize the Friday night Tango Incident Milonga.

Sue Davis - Friday Introductory Class Teacher + Organizer
Sue has been studying dance since she was 7 years old.  As an adult, she enjoys many forms of dance (swing, salsa, ballroom, cajun, to name a few) but has found a special connection with the Argentine Tango.  Sue's goal in teaching is to make her classes both informative and fun.  Her hope is that students will be comfortable getting out on the floor, not be afraid to make mistakes, but will smile and have a blast in the learning process.  In her own dancing, Sue delights in that special connection and communication between herself and her partner.  She also gets a kick out of finding milongas whenever she travels - so far she has London, Sydney, Copenhagen, & Montreal on the list-- one day soon she hopes to add Buenos Aires.  When she's not dancing, Sue works as a counselor in a local middle school.
